Off to pick Dexter the diabetic moggie up from the vet. He's been in to have his blood sugar curves monitored and they've decided to increase the dose and re-check him in another 2 weeks. If this increase doesn't stabilise his levels, they will need to try a 'big' dose on him to see how that goes, and if that doesn't work they'll try a different brand/form of Insulin.
At least he's home for the weekend - and will be happier than being stuck in a cage.
Playing golf tomorrow - it's Longford Golf Club's opening day - Canadian Foursomes. Debbie and I are looking forward to it - we will have a pretty high handicap - so may have a good chance of burgling the competition. HEHE
Stay tuned for the results.

Brilliant sunsets
Last Friday, I took these shots of the sunset from my back yard. I think this is possibly one of the most brilliant sunset's I have seen for a long time, if not ever. Location is in Perth, Tasmania, and the shot was taken a little after 9pm (EDST).

I'll keep the old girl running
I can't sell my Pajero. We're friends.
I stopped in to survey the 'damage' this morning, and decided to fix it up instead of retiring. Still don't know what the cost is going to be, but it doesn't really make much difference - what I spend on repairs, I'd lose on trade-in anyway - and I reckon she's good for another few years.
Then I'll trade-up.
Long weekend coming up - cats and dogs are looking forward to it. Dexter is a guts. Wolfs down his food then pushes the others out of the way. He keeps waking us up at 5am to tell us he's hungry - which gets annoying after a few days.

Valves, Lifters and Water pumps
Sounds expensive. The Pajero needs intensive care. Still don't know how much it's going to cost, and won't know until Monday when I swing by so they can show me what's wrong with it. Time to look up carsales.com and see what a replacement might cost me. Might be a better option in the long run.
Nearly the weekend. I think I'll need it to prepare myself for the shock.

Howdy
Another blog for me. I have one at http://stevesflying.blogspot.com/ as well, which is tracking my journey as I renew my pilot's licence. This one is for me to reflect on other stuff not related to flying, such as:

The precious pups are featured on my Picasa pages at http://picasaweb.google.com/steveheron1/SamAndPippa
And the Pajero? Well, it's served me well for the past seven years, and is very useful for transporting BIG THINGS (like two sets of golf clubs), so I want to keep it running as long as I can. It doesn't really owe me anything.
I am going to try and be a good blogger and post here regularly. I know that I may also be the only one who reads it, too, but just in case somebody trips over it in their blogsurfing travels, I hope you get some joy from reading about someone who, in the overall scheme of things, is a pretty insignificant microdot on the planet.
Cheers
- Mitsubishi Pajero's blowing head gaskets at the most inconvenient times
- looking after cats with Type 1 diabetes, and the slightly perverse pleasure I am getting from giving him two injections every day for the rest of his life. (Payback for countless scratches)
- trying to retrain two adorable Poodle/Pomeranian's, inherited from friends in Brisbane
- life in general
